Adventist Family Ministries celebrates 100 years in Davao

The Family Ministries of the Seventh-day Adventist Church commemorated the humble beginnings and history in the Philippines during the Tri-Union Centennial Celebration last March 22-24 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City, Philippines.

In attendance were leaders and members representing the Adventist Church from the three administrative territories in the North Philippines, Central Philippines and the South Philippines numbering to a total of 345 registered participants converged and gathered to celebrate the 100 years of Adventist Family Ministries.

With the theme, “Enriching lives and relationships throughout generations”, the celebration was aimed to strengthen the unity and foster the spirit of oneness in mission among the Adventist Church families, generating a sense of gratitude and appreciation on God’s leading for the Family Ministries—from the past until the present, and inculcate hope to each one for a future together in heaven.

As such, numerous learning sessions for its delegates were conducted from its opening program until Sabbath afternoon. Resource Speakers of the event who shared their insights about enriching healthy family relationships were Pr. Willie and Mrs. Elaine Oliver, Family Ministries leaders of the worldwide Adventist Church. From the church headquarters in the Asia-Pacific region: Pr. Samuel Saw, President; Pr. Rudy Baloyo, Executive Secretary; Dr. Max W. Langi, Treasurer; Dr. Orathai Saw, Family Ministries director; Mrs. Virgie Baloyo, Secretary to the President.
