“All of us should represent Christ–wherever we are, whatever we do,” emphasized Pastor Rogelio Nomus, Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) coordinator of the Adventist Church headquarters in Mindanao.
Pastor Nomus was in Davao for the Mission-wide ASi Fellowship on May 31 held at the Conference Hall of the church headquarters in Davao.
The one-day event was attended by ASi elders of the local churches comprising Davao Mission territory.
“The Parable of the Prodigal Son is a good example of how to represent Christ in the marketplace,” said Nomus. “In fact the repentant life of the younger son is worth-emulating,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Laurence Lamera, treasurer of the Adventist Church in Davao explained as to why the church has to put up industries: “we need to work hand-in-hand to augment the soul-winning program of the church, in general.”
After the MissionFoods-sponsored lunch at the Mission cafeteria, delegates organised the ASi Davao with Mr. Gerson Casane as president. Completing the list were six vice presidents, who will also represent the five provinces of Davao and Davao City: Elnie Joe Villaver (ComVal); Peter Lamar (Davao del Sur); Rodelyn Pagdilao (Davao del Norte); Melly Undalok (Davao Occidental); Ludivico Olazo (Davao Oriental); and Casimiro Talaugon (Davao City); Maximo Duetes and Martha Timtim are Treasurers; Elenita Camargo, Associate Treasurer; Oscar Magpusao, Auditor; Welnita Agulo, Secretary; Evenie “Joy” Colegado, Associate Secretary; Charlie Casane, PIO.
The event culminated with a commitment ceremony for ASi Davao.
