Hope Radio and South Philippine Adventist College (SPAC) Church family celebrated the victory with forty-two (42) individuals accepted the truth in the Lord through baptism. More than a hundred of church members around the area witnessed this celebration last Saturday, July 21 at the conclusion of the simultaneous Health, Family Life, and Gospel Seminar held at New Visayas, Matanao and Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

The evangelism effort at New Visayas, Matanao was sponsored by the Hope Radio Davao, SPAC Church, and the Matanao District. Pr. Raul Emnace, SPAC Chaplain while Pr. Harlie Ybanez, the Youth Director of the Adventist Church in Davao region, had it in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

“We presented the gospel message in the context of family life,” Pastor Emnace said, referring not only to the pastoral staff and the Hope Radio missionaries but also to the Adventist community who supported this community outreach. With a unique order of timetable, the dynamic messengers of God’s word along with their weapons – Bible and living experiences, worked hand in hand to provide great and important learnings for the people in the place which in return, resulted to much appreciation to the number of people who made their self-available for God’s ministry. Hence, the four corners of the broadcasting studio are not just where the hopeful media missionaries preached, but on to the other opening wherein there are lots of empty spaces to fill with God’s message.

Commenting on the Matanao outreach, one of the attendees found its way to impart his words regarding to the program and said, “This is a new day for the Church. Countless individuals fought before, formed committees and prayed even in great prosecution. How will we learn if we don’t take that step now?” He challenged more people to become more involved in the church leadership. The question left the interviewers stunned where they thought and evaluated themselves solely as they were if God will return not too far from now – which is likely possible. How can we know?

“The Bible truth can only enrich our home life. We saw our families, spouses and children dedicating themselves to quality of life,” an individual said in the middle of the fourth night when he received his first ever Bible after forty-three (43) years of existence. Speaking from his side after years of following the light, he paid tribute to the pastors and evangelists whose leadership and preaching were prominent in the evangelistic events throughout the world. “We only praise God for what was accomplished in New Visayas. And there is more to come,” he added.

Fortunately the team also met one of the avid listeners of Hope Radio from the locality, Mrs. Josephine Siton, a parishioner of the United Pentecostal Church who lovingly shared her wonderful experience in her patronage to the Adventist broadcast. She even donated an amount of money to be used in buying radio sets for the nightly meeting give-away.

This event is a clear evidence that successful evangelism means partnership – with God and our faith. It’s the persuasion of the spoken word, and the convincing presentation of the written word supplies lasting results. And we, praise the Lord for His leading in New Visayas, Matanao and Bansalan, Davao del Sur. (by Princess Mae Dab Caliusan/Photo by Jay Linogao)
