Women’s Ministries launches KiD-U

121 participants from the local missions/conferences around the South Philippines territory for the Kids In Discipleship (KID) University launching at the headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Davao last February 6-8.

Dr. Meriam Andres, director of the Children’s Ministries of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Southern Asia-Pacific region, were all smiles to see the participants from all over Mindanao present at the event. Assisting Andres were Josie Calera and Lyne Dilag, Children’s Ministries director of Central Luzon Conference and KID president of Pasay Central Adventist Church, respectively.

Leading the program launch was Shirley Aguinaldo, director of Children’s Ministries of South Philippine Union Conference (SPUC) . She was ably assisted by the Children’s Ministries directors of the local missions/conference of SPUC: Leonor Mongaya (Zamboanga Peninsula); Dr. Rofely Dumpasan (North-Central Mindanao); Ma. Luisa Dulce Jimenez (Western Mindanao); Myrna Pamunag (Northeastern Mindanao); Mercedes Aplicador (Southern Mindanao); and Marife Patalinghug (Davao).

Methyl Almocera, the office secretary of the SPUC Children’s Ministries, was also in attendance to share her expertise.

A special recognition was given to Adam’s Center Adventist Church for pioneering this ministry in Mindanao, with Tagum Central, Toril Central, and Buhangin churches following.

“We are looking forward to see all our churches will have this ministry activated,” Patalinghug said. “Everyone will be benefited by this program because life transformation will take place not only with the mentors and parents, but also with our children,” she continued.
