MOVADA celebrates IEL Thanksgiving and Sportsfest

A district-wide event was conducted with initiative of Pr. Vicente Hulguin, and supported by the elders of Mountain View Adventist Association or MOVADA, comprising of fourteen churches in Laak, Compostela Valley province on October 28-31. The four-day activities include series of lectures and sport activities. The event aimed to strengthen the fellowship among its members. Through the Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle (IEL), a church initiative designed to witness and nurture the newly members.

Pr. Jasper Love Panuncio, director of the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries of the Adventist Church in Davao region was the guest speaker. He spoke a powerful message reminding members about the current situation of the church today. “We should not let ourselves be deceived by the things we have in this world. But let us focus our eyes to the Great Provider, whose life was made to sacrifice and that is Jesus”, he said.

Despite a weather condition the Sabbath day experienced, this didn’t hamper their enthusiasm and activities. “We’re so happy and grateful that we came here to participate the thanksgiving of the IEL. Though we encountered some challenges and difficulties coming here, we have to go on,” said a local church leader from Kapatagan Adventist Church.
