New Beginnings Series yields 791

October 25, 2018 • in News & Events

791 individuals recently accepted the Lord through baptism on October 20 at Las Palmas swimming pool in Brgy. Mandug, this city. This latest baptism was added to the Quiet Hour Ministries-led evangelism campaign held in 5 venues around Davao City: Davao City Recreation Center (formerly Almendras Gym); Toril Adventist Church in Crossing Bayabas, Toril; Calinan Adventist Church in Calinan; Doña Mercedes Gym in Panacan; and Babak Multipurpose Gym in the Island Garden City of Samal on October 12-20.

The Quiet Hour Ministries was led by their speaker-emeritus, Pr. Bill Tucker and wife, Jackie. They were accompanied by evangelists Walton and May Williams, Noel and Diane Fillman, and Joy Johannsen.

The Davao City Recreation Center served as the main venue of the event. The New Beginnings series was presented by Pr. Bill Tucker and translated into Cebuan by Pr. Jerry Patalinghug, the Ministerial secretary of the Adventist Church headquarters located in Cagayan de Oro City.

Recently, Pastor Bill and a team of volunteers went to Davao, Philippines, to preach the gospel. By the time they got there, the gospel workers had already been hard at work, sharing saving grace. Our mission team, working together with the local church and gospel workers saw thousands baptized!

Here’s what Pastor Bill had to say about the incredible experience:

The final weekend of our evangelistic series came to a grand climax with the five sites coming together at the Almendras Gym. There were 5,000 people in attendance!

Our team was together on the front row. We celebrated the commitment of hundreds that made decisions for baptism. That day, 791 were baptized at the beautiful Las Palmas Swimming pool, and there were two other places that had baptisms in the Davao region. Overall, more than 1,000 were baptized on that day.

Others had been baptized prior and still more were baptized after we left! A grand total of over 8,500 precious souls have been baptized so far as a result of our QHM co-sponsored evangelism work!

As usual, the success of our campaign was largely due to the extensive and faithful work of the gospel workers. Baptisms will continue to take place for several weeks to come.

The greatest need now is to construct many chapels. We are praying that we will be able to assist in this much needed endeavor to accommodate the thousands that have been baptized!
