AWR-CDE Executive Shares Inspiration at DM Workers’ Meeting

Pastor Elexiz Mercado, Associate Director of the Adventist World Radio Center for Digital Evangelism (AWR-CDE), recently made awareness about the Digital Evangelism program of the church during the Digital Evangelism Training held earlier this week.

However, he extended his stay at Metropolitan Davao by doing the “May Pag-asa” (There Is Hope) evangelistic series in one of the barangays in Baguio District, Calinan.

Today, after guesting Hope Channel Davao’s “Let’s Pray Mindanao,” he delivered an inspirational message about God’s calling for the mission administrators, directors, pastors, and workers in God’s vineyard. He emphasized that when God calls– He guides, generates, and gives.

Mercado accepted the Lord at the early age of 15, and even if he was the only Adventist in the family, he persistently studied the Bible. In addition, he offered himself as a speaker or participant in any church meetings. His transformation from a hip-hopper-looking young fellow to a refined, gentlemanly Bible teacher took place quickly.

He loved recording sermons or Bible lessons, and out of his knowledge, someone posted his videos on YouTube. Days passed, and someone called him, an unknown caller from a country in the Middle East. After a few moments of hesitation, he picked up the phone and received an invitation from a confessed follower of his YouTube sermons.

Only then he realized that his sermon had gone viral on social media. The man invited him to visit and teach them in this country. He accepted the tough challenge and processed his papers, but the immigration required him to pay PhP 90,000.00, which he could hardly raise. Finally, a woman unknown to him offered PhP 100,00.00 as a donation for his ministry, and eventually, his trip became a reality. When God calls, He guides.

A group of people invited him to a country in South Asia to preach, but Christian preaching in public was eventually prohibited. The immigration held him because of the possible risks but an hour before his flight, he was allowed to travel on a risky missionary journey, and his labors there became highly fruitful. He then traveled to many countries to do soul-winning sermons he loved to do.

When God calls, He generates. So when people today are busy making a name of their own, often very particular about brands, God’s workers should keep on proclaiming Him and never worry about branding and popularity. God will generate rewards for all faithful endeavors by obeying the great commission.

As a devoted young pastor, Mercado said he earned his hard way but did not seek popularity. He just preached and shared God through the work given to him by the church and his online ministry. As a former 3-pointer basketball varsity player, he started sharing God’s love with his YouTube channel and Facebook accounts. He replaced the ordinary 3 with “Tree,” symbolizing the cross of Jesus, highlighting the importance of the Word of God that “Points” to Him!

Mercado was once a high school basketball varsity player. Unfortunately, he broke his shoulder bone in one of his games during his glory days. However, as he turned to the Lord and placed his life in the Master’s hands, he converted his “three points shots” to what is now known as “The Tree Points Ministry” and has achieved many things as a pastor working for AWR.

Yes, when God calls, He gives. He has His own marvelous ways that provides for us to become a blessing to others. It all happened to Pastor Lex because of someone who believes in his calling by simply sharing with him the message of salvation with no walls, no borders, and no limits. (DM Communication)
