100 accepts Christ despite weather disturbance

After two months of groundwork and two weeks of series of lectures, the “Malipayong Panimalay: Karon ug sa Umaabot” (Happy Family: Now and Forever) Seminar yielded 100 individuals accepting Jesus Christ through baptism on October 31, 2015, at Datu Davao, Laak Compostela Valley.

The seminar was conducted due to the call that many local residents were interested to hear God’s message, thus welcoming the event wholeheartedly and vigorously. The series was facilitated by Pr. Vicente Hulguin, the Laak 1 district pastor and Pr. Seth Suan, Laak-I district pastor and Tagum Central Church pastor, respectively.

The seminar was well attended despite the distance to many and bad weather. The team was so eager and determined to continue the seminar with or without transportation or the weather disturbance. For the team, it was a blessing and privilege to share the hope to the lives of the residents of Datu Davao.

Members of Tagum Central Adventist Church graced the seminar and shared gifts to the seminarians during the closing program.

Pr. Jasper Love Panuncio, the SS/PM Director of Davao Mission, was the guest speaker during the culmination of the seminar. He encouraged newly-baptized members to be strong in their newfound faith. Likewise, he challenged regular members to nurture and guide the new members in their journey of faith.

The baptism rites was held at a river in Datu Davao, officiated by Hulguin, Suan, and Panuncio. Residents of Datu Davao observed this momentous event as 100 people accepted the call to be be a part of the Adventist Church. [Vecente Macalua]
